my first experience

i had bought property in Putnam county in ind, in 1975, it was abandon farm property and was grown up in weeds, the owner had died and it was sold in 5 acre lots, it was 180 feet wide and 1300 feet deep, it had thick woods and a small stream on it and the front acre was was just in weeds, so in october of that year, i hired a farmer to bush hog the front acre and i used the drive way that a neighbor had just put in so i could drive on the property,

i drove out there to see how i wanted to develop the property, this was in mid October, about 5:00 in the afternoon, the weather was cool but clear, i pulled my truck to where the woods started at the rear of the one acre, and parked, and got out, and stood there looking at the woods for a while, all of a sudden i heard a whistle real loud , going from a shrill tone to low tone, and then heard a tree whack, and smelled a dead skunk, and wet dog type of smell, and the hair on my arms and neck stood on end, i did not see any thing, i was just scared as hell and got out of there,

i never heard of bigfoot at the time as i was in the army in Germany during the 1967 Patterson film, so i was at a loss to what happened to me, at the time

them in 1979 i was watching tv and seen the patty film and i got interested, and went to the library, and started to read up on the subject, and found out , what had happened to me , was a bigfoot experience, this changed my life, and i became a part time researcher, i was raising my son by my self, and working a full time job , so this hobby at the time had to be part time, this was my first experience ,

yeah. i got in touch and mentioned getting together sometime and doing some hunting together. they are a few hours away from me though. i hope to keep in touch with them!

yes, i know these folks and they are good people, putnam county is my main research area in ind, while living there , there was two other stories on the property before i moved, i was gone one late night, and got a call on my cb radio, that some one was trying to break in the back door while it was locked the kids were in bed and the wife was up, she was frantic, i turned the truck around, and sped back to the house, we had no out side lights as of yet, just my beams and my antana for the cb, i got back to the house and the back door was loose on the hinges, no body was around, i calmed my wife and she went to bed, i stayed up, with my rifle across my lap, until the front door was almost yanked off the hinges, so it seemed, my army reflexes took over and i shot thru the door, there was no blood and nothing out of the ordinary, in those days we shot before we called the cops, they showed up and went thru the one acre , but would not go thru the woods, after they left i called my react team and they came over with big guns and we all went thru the woods, the only thing we found was the next door neighbors new shed had been torn to pieces, that was not the last visit by this maniac, the second and last thing that happened was in broad day light around noon,


my two nieces, was hiking thru the woods, and all of sudden they was chased by a big man thing, that was how they describe it, and they ran up out of the woods and went to our mobile home and we called the sheriff again, and they came out and told us a nut escaped from a mental institution from about 40 miles away and it was probably him, yeah right, that was the last time any body went in the woods, i ended up in a divorce, and moved up north,

i worked as a certified welder at a small factory, in logansport ind, for 13 years, and going out to a state park in peru ind, and doing research there, it is loaded with bigfoot also, i got off work on nov 30th 0f 2005, at 3;30 and went into town to do some business, and was driving back to my home on state road 35 south when i saw some thing big and black leaning on a tree, watching a farmers cattle, the tree was surround by small brush, so i did not see its feet, it was about 8 foot tall , black as the ace of spades, i did not see the face as it was facing the cattle field, it was about 3 foot wide and muscles every where, it was about 75 feet from the road, i slowed down to about 5 miles a hour, it did not seem interested in the traffic on a state highway, i went on home and went back the next day, to do a follow up at the farmers home and was not let on the property, i did check to see if it was a log that had fell against the tree, and nothing was there, i was flabergasted to say the least, this boosted me in to full time research, and i went out as much as i could, i started several public groups of my own and a private group, then a met jan and a friend in ind, that had private property, and had several encounters and sightings there, then went to visit jan in tenn, and saw fox and bo,

i went camping in ind, on a friends property, and we went down some ravines, and found fresh tracks going down a deep hill, witch was covered in heavy brush, and pine trees, and other hard wood forest, we started down the heavily traveled trail, and heard some thing start to run ahead of us, and saw huge hairy legs from the thigh down and red , ducking behind trees as it was escaping, from us, it was red in color and huge , it was about 75 yards ahead us , and as usual no camera, we went there to check out one of the camping parks there, to see what work needed to be done,

as before i went to my friends house, and went out at night, and i took a skeptic with me, we went in to the woods around midnight , and we had flash lights and as we rounded a corner in a trail a small juvenile, took two steps and went around a tree not more then20 feet from us, well got out of there and went back up to the house, and all of went to bed, i took out my hearing aid and went to sleep, around 2 in the morning , the skeptic woke me , and was shaking like a leaf, while i was in a deep sleep, the house was surrounded by 4 bigfoot and was screaming, he saw huge shadows going past his window, lol and was not a skeptic any more, and is a researcher now,

me and a friend was in Warsaw ind, and i was doing research in a area called d5, at Tippecanoe lake, it was the back water area, full of swamps, i got pictures of the area i have never posted with 17 inch foot prints and knuckle prints, and saw some thing at a distance, i knew it was some thing not supposed to be there, it was bent over a pond, doing some thing, i called to it, and it got up and ran off on two legs, it was skinny, but tall , and was light brown in color, , the reason i went to this area, i had received a tip from a friend that lives in the area, and is a bigfoot researcher, so we went up there and got lucky, ther have been several sightings in this area,

we went to Tennessee to visit jan carter, we had a great time there and while we was there, i took jans grand daughter out to there research area, and found foot tracks by the feeder, and looked up and bo was standing behind a tree with his head and shoulders stuck out watching us, he stayed that way about three minutes, and then disappeared from the tree, and took off, i sent tina up to get jan and she came out to check things out , and found tree bows and foot tracks, that night jan let us use her bed room , we was woke , me and my wife after hearing a knock on the trailer, and we looked at the window, and fox was stareing in at us, bald head and all , his eye shine was red, we told jan and she said he does that alot, and was interested in me, because i am bald headed , blue eyes, and a lot of hair on my body, i probably remind him of himself,

But Fox does carry a fascination when it comes to Steve. He is not use to seeing someone that is bald headed and blue eyed like he is and that has a lot of body hair like Steve does. Fox even ask me if Steve was a half breed sasquatch. I told him not that I know of, but I don't think I have him convinced yet that Steve is not one of them. I'm waiting for the day Fox walks right up to Steve and rubs him on the head. That is the picture of a life time I'm hoping for and would not miss for the world if given a chance to photograph it all.

i got a email from mike Bardsley from Indiana bigfoot awareness group, after i moved here, he wrote to me confirming, other sightings 6 tenths of a mile , from where i spotted my first bigfoot, and this was 2 month's ago, so it is good to know i am not the only one crazy from that area,
