Hello,
I had received this e-mail from some one about some encounters in Douglas county Wisconsin. I don't know how the person got my e-mail to contact me, but i must say it sent chills up my spine. I would like any opinions about this from everyone, and how should i move forward with this report please.

Subject: weird encounters

These stories are from my husband:

I turned 36 this year. When I was 15, my family lived near Lake Minnesuing in Douglas County. I had a corn pile and some apples that I hunted over, across the road from my house. I was sitting one afternoon and kept hearing the strangest noise off in the distance. The best word top discribe it would be a screaming gackle. Like an old lady gackling. I sat and watched my pile till it was getting too hard to see. Just when I figured I would leave, a shape came in to the feed pile. It was on all fours but the strange thing was, I swear it brought an apple up, by its front leg, to its mouth. I could hear it crunching the apple but its head had never went too the ground. It then turned and looked straight at me and that gackling came again from some way off. Whatever the thing was at my pile, heard that gackle and took off like a bat-out-a-hell.

Just a few years ago, I was driving at night on Berg Park Road, just north of Hawthorne, WI. Its a dirt road and to the right, a farmer had piled round bales. I seen something looking at me from behind the round bales with red eyes as big as mailbox reflectors. I thought it was just eye shine from my headlights but as I drove past the eyes followed me and were still red. I related my story to my friend Jimmy and he turned white as a ghost. He and his wife had seen the same thing just out of Lake Nebagamon on Hwy F. It was getting dark and they seen what they thought was a bear cross the road in front of them. They turned the headlight toward it and the same huge red eyes stared back.

Sasquatchfound,

I think you should contact this person and ask them if they would mind being interviewed by an investigator by way of phone.

Next I need to ask you, if you have ever done this before and talked as an investigator with the eye witness?

Before you start to asking questions you need to put this person at ease with you and their own personal experience. Let them know they are not the first ones to see something like this. That you are an understanding individual that is willing to listen to what they have to say without passing judgment on what they are telling you about their sighting. That you will help them if you can and if not that you will recommend them to someone else that may be better able to assist them. (Remember none of us know it all when it comes to Sasquatch, not even ME.)

I hate to say this but in this case you are going to have to lead the witness some what when it comes to getting answers. Know what to say and when to say it. For example: When a Sasquatch wishes to remain undetected or feels it may have to retreat quickly they will come out to get food on all fours and then they will run away on all four. Also that if they feel they you will be intimidate by their size they will come toward you slowly on all fours at times and then they will sit down in front of you at a distance and observe what you are doing and if they feel comfortable enough they will take food that you may have left behind or that you offer them directly.

Even if you do not know what you are talking about exactly, act as if you do and that nothing astonishes you when it come to behavior of a Sasquatch. Remember not all of them act the same, look the same, or do any give thing the same way, or that they will approach two people out of a hundred in the same manner. If you think something the witness tells you is unusual note this but think of all the reports you have heard before and see if this may be something you have heard of before but just didn't take that great a notice of at the time.

Here are a few pointer questions to ask.
1. Did they notice a color, and if it was hairy or not?
2. Did they take note of any exacting shape and size of the creature?
3. How far apart was the eye shine from eye to eye?
4. Was the eye shine round, almond shaped, large, small, look as if it had a lens over it, or that it may have been reflecting the light of the moon or a near by light?
5. At any time did the witness feel threatened in any way?
6. Ask about estimated speed when the creature retreated from the witness view. And on the road side did that creature ever come out from behind the bale of hay?
7. Did the creature behind the bale of hay follow the witnesses progress in the car by turning it's head or did it actually turn its body if they may have noticed? ( This will help you determine if it was a Sasquatch or not if the witness took notice of this. The average adult Sasquatch can not turn their head but at 30 degrees either side before they need to turn their body to view something or someone. This is because of their muscle mass in the neck and collar bone and shoulder areas. Young Sasquatch can only move 50 degrees either side while we can turn our heads 70 degrees either side.)
8. At any time did the witness notice what may have sounded like a cat meowing when the creature was present at the apples?
9. Does the Witness think that their friend would mind telling of their sighting?
10. Reassure the witness that confidentiality will be maintained and that unless they wish it so no one will know their location, names, or come to their areas without first having their permission to do so. Then ask if they would want someone qualified to visit them in their area? (Always offer assistance and to investigate further, and if need be we can find someone to visit with the witness.)

All right your on your way, if you need help with anything let us know. Some of our best reports and sightings get reported to us by pure accident at times.
Yours,
Jan

Jan,
Thank you for your help. You mentioned questions to ask that i would not have thought to ask so i am making a note of what to say and how to say it.
I admit i am not very experienced at questioning witnesses, hopfuly with your guidence i will do a good job with this witness. Also, may i direct the witness to the forum here if they have any other questions i may not be able to answer? I will report back as more info comes to me.

Thanks, Shane

You are welcome Shane.
Certainly direct them here if you like. We are here to help. If you will look in your private messages at the top here right under your log in name you can click on this and find your mail box. I will send you an e-mail therein now with our phone number, if you need anything feel free to call us. You may also reach me at

leashire11865@bigfootreferenceguide.com or

leashire11865@hotmail.com

Don't feel bad that you are not as experienced as some of us with talking and questioning the witness, we all learn as we go and no one starts out being experienced.

A few other things you may wish to consider is that if you talk with the witness by phone ask them if they would mind you recording the conversation and tell them you wish to do so, so that you will not forget everything they tell you. Also tell them this recorded conversation is for your personal files only and will not be shared with anyone else, and is only so that you may take accurate notes. You will find most witnesses don't mind being recorded, because they want their account to be quoted correctly. If they happen to be like the few that do mind being recorded, get pen and paper and take notes so you will not forget what is said, if you feel it is important write it in your notes.

Yours,
Jan
