Maybe there's someone who can answer a few questions for the newbie????

1) What does Fox call Jan? Does he call her by name and is Jan still in touch with his family? Did Fox and his family follow Jan to Indiana and back again to Tennessee? (Do I have those states right?)

2) Is it ok to still feel a little afraid? Will they sense that? I have to exhibit honest emotion and I do have to say that when I am in the forests now I am more aware of things than before...and I thought I was aware then! I know me and I know my fear will banish and become a quest! From what I have read there doesn't seem to be a threat to humans....on the contrary they (those habituated) seem to welcome the interaction. I wonder if the FF's can put a mind at ease! : )

3) Have you ever heard a "chattering teeth" sound from a FF? At night when I walk the dogs in the Pinelands on what we call "tar roads" as opposed to the miles and miles of dirt roads, I have heard a teeth chattering sound, Like when you bite down quickly and can hear your teeth chattering together. Others have heard it too. In NJ we have black bear, mountain lions, racoons, fox, oposssum, coyote, (apparently Sasquatch) etc. so it could have been anyone of those, but I thought you might know an animal that makes that sound. I got the distinct impression that I was being warned and I got out of there. At the time I was thinking bobcat, fox, or something. FF never entered my mind!

4) Do FF's have a mating season like dogs when the female goes into heat? Are babies all born around the same time like what happens when human females live in close proximity to each other? Have you ever seen a newborn FF and can you describe it (color, weight, sounds it makes, how long it is dependent on its mother)? I have to ask this...sorry! Have you seen mating occur and what form does it take? loving? aggressive? position? Does the female give off a signal that she is fertile? Does mating occur randomly? Is privacy a consideration or does that not matter? (I guess what I am asking if they are as keyed up about sex as human societies are.)


5) Can I still get a copy of Jan's book about her experiences growing up with FF's? I think there's much to be learned from a book like that! I am ordering those sound CD's Tom! Thanks for the heads-up!



6) Have you ever seen FF's using natural plants, etc. for healing practices/purposes and do they know, have they taught or even helped a human with their knowledge of healing? Do you know of any stories where an FF helped a hurt or ill human?

7) I read somewhere that Igor has the DNA of a half FF/half human female who had children. If this is true, that alone indicates genetic closeness because only animals of the same gene pool can breed successfully. Is it common for an FF to act aggressively towards a female human (rape) or is it a choice? In other words, how did it happen that an FF mated with a human?

8) Have the FF ever used any of the things made by humans in either a way that was taught to them or are they ever just curious? How do they feel about our "things", the homes we live in, the machines we operate? Do they ever question how we have come to have these "things" and why we choose to live as we do?

9) Is there any evidence of symbolic drawings, maps or a written form of language?


(10) Do they ever bang on houses to get your attention? Can they hear your recordings and come looking for others if you listen to the recordings in your home or car?

(11) How do we look to the FF's? Do they consider us weak, fat, not stealthy, artificial???


12) If you choose to give gifts of food to them and they become dependent on it, will they hurt you or the property if you run out?


13) Have you ever witnessed what you might call a spiritual understanding or behavior is FF's? Do the use tools and would they adapt to learning to use a human tool, i.e. a shovel?


14) Can you romp on the ground and play with a juvenile without alarming its mother assuming that the FF family trusts you? Have you ever been able to hold a newborn FF? How long is the pregnancy in an FF? Has a pregnant human ever interacted with them and have they ever seen a newborn human?

15) Has anyone ever visibly and openly cried in front of the FF's and if so, what was the reaction? Can they empathize with another FF or a human if either are hurt or sad?

16) Do the FF have territorial fights with other FF tribes? Do you ever witness jealous behavior?

17) Could FF language just be mimicry of English or do you think they have a good command of language usage? Have you ever heard of Ghost Hunters getting electronic voice phenomenon on a recorder? Sometimes they tell you what the voice is saying and it acts as a suggestion to what you have heard, when this may not be definitely so. Do you find the same thing happening when words are translated so that the English can be heard?


18) Is it possible that humans have a tendency to use anthropomorphism and extend to the FF's human characteristics in culture and other aspects? An examplke of this looking at a typical FF situation and overlaying human emotion of th eincident, when it actually migh tnot be there at all. My guess is if you live among them for many years, you could begin to rule out the assignment of human feelings to the FF's once you are sure that what you are seeing are their true FF characteristics!

Regina, Jan is down sick at the moment, and will be here after , she is feeling better, In the mean time , i will try to answer just some of your questions, and then Jan can fill in the empty spots,

the ff, are more intune to nature then man is, and man has lost the old stone age adaptation, of the wild, they also lost the sense they used on a daily basis,
The physic and mental ability to each other, in the sense of nature,
they do have territorial areas, and yes fights do break out at times,

they do have empath for humans, and are very protective towards children, they do indeed have insights to our fears and worries, they can tell if a person is pure at heart, by reading their mind and soul , if you will, those that they choose to interact with, they are protective towards them,

the chattering of teeth, is indeed a warning, they are agitated, and want you gone from the area,


i want Jan to cover this in more detail, this is her forum and i am just going to touch on basics,

Jan has been around their children, but at normal circumstance's they are very protective of their children, never ever get close to them, just observe from a distance,


when Jan moved to Indiana, fox and company went to the national forest to live normal lives, and then when we all moved here, Jan called them and they are near us, in a secret location, I my self have fed them,

Fox calls me Manita which means Small hand. Yes I am still in touch with Fox and his extended family members. No they didn't follow me to Indiana and back again. They stayed in a non disclosed area in TN while we were in IN.

It is normal to be afraid of them and to feel fear. Yes they do sense if you fear them. They can put a mind at ease if they want to do so, but yet on the other hand they can put a mind at fear. It really depends on the person and what that persons intentions are when they are looking for them or if they just happen to be a hiker out in the woods for a good hike.

Yes they do chatter and pop their teeth together. It sounds like us when we chatter our teeth when cold only louder. The popping is just that a loud pop from them clamping their teeth together hard.

The FF have cycles like a woman has. Babies can be born at any time of the year. Sometimes sister will have their babies close to one another in age. Yes I have seen newborns. I'll take Toby as an example when he was a few days old he was around about 30 inches long head to heel. He had white skin and a light dusting all over his body of fine white hair, except for his head where the white hair was around an inch long. I'd say he weighted a good 17 to 20 pounds. He had a fragile baby looking neck that required support. His head was sort of coned from being born but rounded as weeks and months went by. Except for the hair which grows in like that of a puppies when it gets a few days to weeks old he looked very human looking except the side and length of him. The one thing I have noted is that the babies are not born with a soft spot in their head like human children are. I think this contributes to the coning shape of their heads when they are little. However I don't know if it has anything to do with the crest much or not when they are adolescents, teenagers and adults. Yes on the mating and it was missionary and like that of dogs mating. The males approach the females and woo them very much the same as a man would woo a woman, he tries to talk her into coupling with him. If she refuses he goes away and leaves her be or else gets yelled at and slapped at, popping teeth and other displays of aggression toward him if he does not stop his advances. The female does let the male know if she will couple with him. Yes it occurs randomly. Yes they like their privacy and often go off from the other family members out of sight to mate. The male is your typical male here, he thinks between his legs most of the time, the other time he thinks with his stomach. The Female uses her head and worries more for the needs of her offspring and family members needs first before she plays.

We no longer offer the book for sale. However, I have two copies I lend out for those who wish to, to read. Right now both are on loan. I do ask that you pay for the shipping cost back to me and return the book. There is a little bit of a waiting list, but if you wish to read the book I'll place you on that list. Yes to all three questions. I'll take an example here with Bo our young male. I had a tooth ache and he first advised I use willow bark and chew and place this on my tooth. I didn't do so, therefore he gave me snake root he got from somewhere and I applied it and the tooth was alright for a while. Needless to say I ended up having the bad tooth pulled.

Yes the use many of our tools if we leave them out or offer them to them. Everything from knives to shovels. They are curious about a lot of our tools, even to the point of carrying off a 25 pound gas tank they could not possibly use and not returning it until four months later. Most of our larger machinery they do not trust. They have homes also so they know what our homes are, yet they do not understand how we own our homes.

Yes on houses, cars, out buildings, by clapping rocks together and other means to get our attention. Yes they will sometimes come to recordings. A juvenile yes but not a baby or one under the age of three. Not a newborn but a six month old yes. about nine to ten months. I once thought it was eleven months because when I was younger I witnessed them coupling and it was eleven months before a baby was born but that doesn't mean it took this long. Yes I interacted with them when I was pregnant all three times. Yes they seen all my girls when they were babies. Nicki even requested seeing my youngest when she was little because Nicki was pregnant and due to have her first child Shay, at the time my youngest was nine months old.

Yes and they offer comfort. Yes they are very empathizing.

Yes they fight over territory but only for survival. Well Nicki is jealous of me interacting with Fox her daddy if that counts. She gets nasty and growls and pops her teeth at me and bluff charges me a lot.

They have their own language and have a great command of the English language as well. Yes I have heard of electronic voice phenomenon, unfortunately my ex-husband is a Ghost Hunter. Not my cup of tea. No I do not find the same thing happening when the words are transcribed in English for others to understand them when they speak English. Point blank they talk, speak, have a vocabulary and communicate vocally.

It would be possible that this could happen in some cases. However myself I note their characteristics to that of Human if it is human, ape if it is ape. For example they will stand still and sway from foot to foot and that is apish to me. Another thing that appears apish to me is that when the child is older they will carry the child on their backs at times. We do not tote our children around on our back and they hang on while we go about our business. That looks like an ape characteristic to me. On the other hand noted as a human characteristic is the fact when Junior is naughty Mom or Dad will give him a swift swat on the buttocks for misbehaving. Then unique to them and them alone as I know of no other animal, man included is the way they can belly crawl and sneak up on someone or something. This is their own characteristic.

My question is: If you ineract with FF's as Jan and others have, it is human to smile. We do it spontaneously. If you are smiling near FF's, do they take it as aggression?

You do have to be careful how much of your teeth you show when you smile, like anything in the wild, baring teeth means aggression. I think that a male to male would be worse than a female to male. But a female to female is just like the male to male, it would be trying to show dominance over the other.

Hello Regina,

First let me apologize to everyone for not being here to answer questions. I have someway managed to block myself and can only get in to the forum by way of administration link. Maybe I took care of this. Now the darn think keeps telling me the server is busy. Tom is trying to get this problem figured out for us all.

When you are in contact or close quarters with a FF you can smile at them or they can smile at you. What you should not do is a fake open lipped gritted teeth smile at them. They like other apes take this as a challenge. You can do an open lipped smile at them if you do not close your teeth together. They laugh and cut up and smile also, but if you ever see them smiling with gritted teeth back away from them as fast as you can, in other words back peddle.

Hi Jan! I am really glad that the FF's smile, which makes me smile! I guess you just have to be careful HOW you smile! When I heard Wahump giggle over how funny we look.....now that's funny and I laughed out loud. I am so glad that they have a sense of humor and like to laugh!

Maybe sometime you could share some jokes that you have shared with Fox and his family. I would love to hear that!

In the radio show, I wasn't sure about what Steve A was explaining. He told how the FF was agitated and you spoke to it regarding territory. Steve got to close when he tried to give it fruit and you both were skunked. This seems so different from the ones that laugh. I got confused when Steve said something about something being "shameful"????? I missed that, I guess. This does show me that there must be lots of different personality types among the FF just like us!
