I just wanted to ask your opinions on the audio recordings and transcribed text that Jan has provided in the http://www.bigfootreferenceguide.com/forumdisplay.php?f=25 Forum.
Have any of you been able to understand what the Forest Friends are saying, with Jan's word transcribed text there to read, as you are listening to the recording clips?
How many times have you repeatedly played a clip to listen and read the words?
Which audio clip and word translation do you find interesting?
Should I add audio clips that I have taken from the Sierra Sound Recordings to that Forum? Would you be interested in hearing and reading more?
Do you feel that there is something substantial to this ability of their speech?
I would be most thrilled to hear your input.

I can understand some of the words, but Jan's translations helps out alot. The way that they talk at times it is very hard to understand. Jan growing up with them helps her understand what they are talking about.

What if you had the opportunity to be shown how to listen and understand.
Would you be interested in such a thought?
Would you feel it important to study the possibility of their intelligence and speech?

Certainly. I don't know how effective I would be at it though. I recently had 2 semesters of spanish in college and I have no idea what people are telling me still.

I never could understand any of it except the bad words. How about some French 24 years ago. Bonswa? Wee Wee Madame's. I don't even remember how to spell it let alone speak it any more. It's all valiantness to me, because you have bravery to even begin to speak a different language from your own native language.
Definition of word valiantness:
noun
The quality of mind enabling one to face danger or hardship resolutely: braveness, bravery, courage, courageousness, dauntlessness, doughtiness, fearlessness, fortitude, gallantry, gameness, heart, intrepidity, intrepidness, mettle, nerve, pluck, pluckiness, spirit, stoutheartedness, undauntedness, valiance, valiancy, valor. Informal spunk, spunkiness. Slang gut (used in plural), gutsiness, moxie.

Folks, i have listened to some of these recordings and others that have not been famous or put on the web sites,, and i have to say , if you don't know how to listen to them, then you will hear what you want to hear, there is a trick to this, and jan will back me on this , when i say, don't listen like humans do, remember we are listing to bigfoot talk, so you have to put your self like a bigfoot is talking, not like a human, in other words , human break the word up after each word is spoken, bigfoot words are all drawing out in one voice, for instance we are all sitting around a camp fire listening to a bigfoot in the woods near us, and all you hear as humans are what call garbled noise come in a scream or or a low moan, or just unintellectual noise, , lets take a moan as a example, its just one noise, but it could have two or three words in it, this is what you want to listen to , very carefully, and many times over , after it is recorded, this way to learn their type of English, after a while you can then start to pick up theirs words to us,

I would also like to add that the Forest Friends do not always structure their sentence like we would in English. They do use English words but they structure their sentence like Spanish sentence structure. Their words do not always fall in the order that we are accustomed to.
The FFs are much larger than us, so their lungs and throats are much larger than ours. Because of this, their tones are going to be different from what we are accustomed to. It does take someone that has grown up around them to fully understand how to listen and understand what they are saying. There are other important features that the FFs have that change their tone and word pronunciation from our own.
Professors and Linguists have studied the Bigfoot sounds and have came to their conclusions. What if they had help understanding how to listen and understand the audio recordings. Could they have came to other conclusions?
That is a question that I keep asking myself after being shown how to listen and understand the talk of the FFs.

i'm really indifferent on these recordings. i really don't know how a bigfoot can speak english. that just seems so crazy to me. but then again, i haven't been into this field as long as jan, tom, or steve. i don't know. im not doubting it, i just haven't heard it yet. i have only heard the moan/whistle sounds. and i didn't really listen to any word structure. just kinda took it as "yelling." the yelling was followed by tree knocking from elsewhere in the woods, and then the "yeller" replied with knocks. it was very exciting! we even heard heavy steps around us! i'd be very interested in learning more about this subject, however!

When you heard these yellings, was it whoooos? I ask this because they do communicate with these whoooos for great distances. Their way of carrying for great distances "Who are you?". If you hear this again while you are out researching, just answer with your name. Just tell them whom you are and that you mean no harm. Ask them Whooooo and you may just get the unexpected surprise of your life with an answer that may be difficult for you to understand. They will share their name with you.
It just has been such a long time that they were misunderstood and that they frighten most of us when we first do see them. If they learn that we are attempting to communicate and have "Good Will" with them, friendship can be established.
I am going to explain this the way I explained it to scientist and others on how to understand the bigfoot when they speak English to us. In order to do this I have to give away a little known work history and such about myself.
First I grew up around the bigfoot so I can pretty well understand them when they speak in English or their native language. Second when I was younger I worked with the handicap autistic people in a mental institute here in TN. While working there I encountered some of the patients that would come up to you and sort of flutter their hands near you and sound like they were talking so much gibberish or just making a bunch of noise to many of the staff that worked there. This was not the case at all. These people just talked really fast not stopping between sentences or paragraph's or even page long talking. They ran their words together. And if you ask them to slow their speech down they sing song their words really slow instead of actually speaking at a normal pace.
This is the same for the most part as what the bigfoot do when they talk or speak in English or their language. They either speak at three times the normal speed of speech or they slow their speech down so much it is like a singing song speech. Plus their larynx is lower than our own, and their Adams apple if you will bobs different than our own.
So, What to do with the autistic and the bigfoot in order to be able to understand them when they speak? Here is the trick. You can do several things. First you can ask them to slow their speech down some so you might understand them, or you can learn to listen to them and pick out certain words from everything they say. Or you can tape record them at their normal speed of speech and then slow the recording down when you play it back so that you can understand them. They talk at a speed of a 78 record playing that should be played at a 33 speed so you can understand the words. If they sing the words slowly you will have to speed the recorder up to understand what they say. It's as simple as that, until you train your hearing to understand them at their normal speed of speech.
Practice listening over and over again to what the bigfoot are saying on the recordings. It takes a trained ear and being around it for a while but if you practice listening enough you will eventually be able to understand them at least when they speak in English to you, or you hear them speaking on recordings.
Stan if you or anyone else ever need someone to go with you and show the people that test these recordings showing that it is not a regular human making the sounds I would be glad to go and explain to them and show them how to understand what is being said by the bigfoot. Like I say: No I'm not a linguist, I just know how to listen and understand them and teach others to understand them when they talk. I only wish for others to understand these unique people. I do this for educational purposes only.
Yours,
Jan

I can understand it if I listen to it over and over. To me the clearest line is "What? C'mon, listen." Also, the "back off" line. It really helps when Jan has translated and you know what to listen for in the recordings. This is good stuff! :)

That is what helps someone to be able to start picking up and understanding, and I know the words there to read really helps.
We are not trying to pull the wool over anyone, they are speaking in ENGLISH.

Tom S I have heard our FF's speak as clearly as you or any one else on this forum. This last summer I heard one say to Jan as clear as day, " hungery." I have also heard them speak to my son, grandson , two granddaughters as well as myself. I have had a female speak to me when I said an Native American phrase to her when she was watching a friend of mine that came home with me late one night as we were getting out of the car. The friend thought it was one of my grand kids or a neighbor at the time talking to me from behind the trees. She made the statement after hearing the female speak to me that she thought whom ever was speaking had maybe a cleft pallet. Tho I knew what Lady FF was saying without any problem. Windspirit

>>>>Have any of you been able to understand what the Forest Friends are saying, with Jan's word transcribed text there to read, as you are listening to the recording clips?
In most clips I can undertsand what is being said after I read it first.
>>>How many times have you repeatedly played a clip to listen and read the words?
You can't go by me. LOL I listen just to listen a hundred times or more because I can't believe what I am hearing. But at the same time I am actively trying to hear and understand and sometimes practice the sounds.
>>>Which audio clip and word translation do you find interesting?
I find the clip with the male telling the female to let go of the toilet seat and to "Listen!" to him the clearest, but truthfully, I had to laugh because it's so typical. They sound like an old couple out shopping and she refuses to let go of the item she is deciding about and he is losing patience and wants her to hurry! (Typical male) And she ignores him. (Typical female) LOLOLOL I can just picture the scene....sorry! I laughed out loud over that one!
>>>Should I add audio clips that I have taken from the Sierra Sound Recordings to that Forum? Would you be interested in hearing and reading more?
Yes yes and definitely yes!
>>>Do you feel that there is something substantial to this ability of their speech?
I think the most substantial thing is that speech is usually one of the ways the humans are classified into the human category....having the ability to speak. I hope someone is paying attention!
I am curious about the musical sounds and drumming at the end of the recordings....what's that about? Was it dubbed over? I would also be interested in hearing some of the FF's own language and what it means. I am wondering if the new listener hears the words only because they are pointed out in the readings. I don't think I would have understood the English alone (except for the toilet seat scene...that's very clear speech and very hilarious! He sounds like he is speaking in a British accent too!) The FF's run a lot of the words and sounds together so I have trouble...I can't "hear" that fast. Actually, I can't believe I am having this conversation. I am discussing the FF's ability for speech. This is incredible...just incredible!

Hi Regina,
I have taken small clips from "The Bigfoot Recordings Volume 2" disc and placed so that it is easier to show listeners where to listen for the words.
The cd has music in between the tracks and Ron Morehead's narrations. You can purchase the entire cd or even the set at Ron Morehead's website. I will If it here.

We hope that everyone will participate with the interest that they do speak, they are not merely Gorillas. This ability of speech proves this point very well I believe. We do not need to shoot one for Science, we are going about this the correct way to prove their existence with the correct persons involved.
I am thrilled that you can hear some of the spoken words, do you think it is mimicry? Some folks like to say that this is merely mimicry, I know differently.
I love listening to this, see if you can make out what is said.

You are so correct Regina, Wahump does say "They're so funny lookin" and starts laughing, then Nazari joins in the laugh. Every time that I listen to it I also bust out laughing.
They were a happy family back there in the early 70's, I just wonder who is still around that area now. Could their son Macurdnic have a family there now? I also think to myself how much sooner this Myth could have been proven if Ron & Al could have understood what was being asked back then. I also understand very well why this has become such a task to prove their existence with the information that I learn of one being shot, ":(". I whole heartedly believe that news travels through their tribes of how hurtful a type of people that we are. "Well some of us anyhow."

WoW, My husband and I can hear the words spoken very clearly! The first time when we read along we both looked at eachother...
Some words are indistinquishable just because they are speaking so quickly.
The laughing at first I didn't know what that was, until I began to understand their speach, then I listened to the laughter again and I began to giggle because I knew what they were doing. It sounds like laughter. WOW!
We are anxious to listen to our forest friendlies... I've done some research and IF they have been around the indigenous peoples then we suspect that they know Cree, English and perhaps Ukrainian? But we are just going to listen with our ears open first.
There is a thread, where an explaination is being given, and there is a note that Tom hears something other than the interpretation given... I hear Wahump ( The female) saying " I said" She is trying to coax Nazari to get up... she's persistent I'll give her that, They sound like a typical married couple. It's cute and she has such a nice soft voice... There is alot of character in their voices and they are a very animated couple.
I think of Fred and Wilma Flintstone when I listen to them!
Thank you!

Shannon, thank you for taking the time to listen & read. Do you find the thread as a teaching tool or something just to get you to hear something that we hear?
srnityblu
03-20-2009, 09:44 PM
It is definitely a teaching tool because it opens up possibilities that we never considered before.
I know myself, I had mindsets and hurdles I had to get over, and really think long and hard to the possibilty of what I was hearing with my own ears was true. I actually had to play the recordings over a few times without the translation just to prove to myself that I could hear what I did... When you are listening and WANT to listen with a true intent, then you will hear it... I suspect that if one is in disbelief, they won't hear it.
People's mindsets are hard to change and I suspect that your teachings of how to communicate with these Forest Giants will and has created controversy, just for the fact alone that people have things secured in their minds and don't want to give that up.
I honestly wish there was more to listen to! My husband and I are so stoked!
